About this archive

This is a local, read-only website built from the WTMC trip report database: one record per trip, gathered from the club's trip report spreadsheet, the club newsletters (many of them scanned and read by OCR) and the posts on the club website. It holds 1,816 reports and 7,938 photos.

The area recorded for each trip is free text, so for filtering it is grouped into broad regions by keyword (falling back to the website tags and the title). Treat the grouping as a guide only.

Rebuilding

Run python tools/build_site.py from the repository folder, then open site/index.html. Photos are linked in place from archive/reports/ and source/web-images/ (the website photos are not in git, so they only show on a machine that has them). Thumbnails are cached in site/thumbs/.
