The Aorangi (Haurangi) Forest Park fills the hills between Palliser Bay and the Wairarapa farmland. It is bush-covered country with small huts and river valleys.
The club's reports here mostly describe medium weekend tramps to Mangatoetoe, Washpool, Kawakawa and Pararaki huts, often combined with the Putangirua Pinnacles at the coast end. A few mention an Aorangi Crossing.
July and November are the busiest months in the reports.
