Fiordland

Very wet, very big, very beautiful.

Photo: Another enjoyable Kepler Great Walk – Fiordland National Park

Fiordland National Park is the largest national park in the country and one of the wettest places in it. It is steep, forested and deeply cut by fiords and lakes.

The club's trips here include the Kepler Track, the Hollyford Track, U Pass, the Iris Burn, and packrafting on Lake Monowai. Most reports are from Easter or Christmas, and the grades are mostly easy-medium to medium.

Rain is the main thing to plan for: rivers rise quickly and tracks can close.
