Photo: Salisbury Lodge and environs – Kahurangi National Park
Kahurangi National Park is the second-largest national park in the country, covering a lot of wild country between Golden Bay and the West Coast. The Heaphy Track, one of the Great Walks, crosses it, and there are tablelands, tarns and big valleys beyond that.
The club's trips range from easy-medium to fit: Mt Arthur and the Tablelands, the Cobb Valley and Lake Peel, Salisbury Lodge, Fenella, Balloon and Trilobite huts, and Mt Owen. April is the busiest month in the reports.
