Mt Aspiring National Park covers a large stretch of the Southern Alps west of Wānaka and Queenstown. Its main peak, Mt Aspiring / Tititea, is a steep, pointed mountain, and the rivers and passes around it make a number of big trips.

The club's trips include the Rees–Dart, the Five Passes, the Olivine Ice Plateau, and several climbs of Aspiring itself. Many are in the Christmas and New Year period, when the days are long.
