The country around Lake Taupō and the central plateau suits kayaks and bikes as well as boots. The club's reports here are few, and most are easy.
They include sea-kayak trips on Lake Taupō, a paddle down the Waikato River, cycling around the lake and on the Timber Trail through Pureora Forest, rock climbing at Kawakawa Bay, and trail runners at the Tarawera Ultramarathon.
