Trips That Fans

Queens Birthday: Ruapehu = A full hut with Sunday and Monday fine, There was skiing at Hut flat and at the top of the 2nd Chair and some managed to ski the Bruce Road for a short Gistance,

Pinnicle Ridce was the focal point for the climbers on the trip.

Ruanines - 15 people on two trips had to battle snow and ice for two days before the weather did its usuel trick of clearing ur so they could coms homie,

Butterfly Creek ~ Over 50 people of all shapes, sizes and ages spent a very pleasant day from all accounts. The route taken was different from the normal and took a leisurely 1% hours to reach the creek, Karin provided ‘a welcome cuppa at “Boswells' Bivey" to finish the day.

Southern Main Range = Had a promising start from Vosseler on a clear cold morning but theweather soon packed in and the party dropped off Simpson into the Whatiuru Creek. Sunday was again fine and the party had a race for the bus via an old route to the plateau. Rock Climbing - 15 enthusiasts benefited from instruction on Saturday but I hear that anly the instructors turned up on the Sunday. Grass Skiing - About 20 skiers and non skiers spent an enjoyable afternoon either trying to master the art or just sitting in the sun. Next summer should see Grass Skiing growing in strength as a pasttime among our. members.
