After an eventful trip in a rental van (renning out of gas and a flat tyre). six WI&MCs and six HV?Cs arrived at the Mangatepopo hut. Saturday morning davmed fros ty and clear skyed. Most of the morning Was spent learning basic rook climbing techniques, commands, and rope handling. ifter a quick lunch the instructors pitched their skills against a few of the harder climbs. Sunday morning also daimed a- perfect day. "Bomb irete" was the subject of a mass attack by five teams of climbers. Chaos reigned for several hours while each climber was coaxed over the crux of the 300' climb. ln enjoyable weekend, and I'm sure everyone learnt a lot, including instructors.
