This trip was supposed. tc have been the Rainbow Valley trip, but there are lots of hassles with getting into the Rainbow so it was transferred to the more accessible Branch Valley of Leatham State Forest. Nine went down on the ferry for a three cay weekend. During the walk-in up the forestry xoad the party split up at Silverstream,. three going up valley to Top Silverstream and the remainer up to Greigs Hut, then up Scots Stream, Dismal weather. Next day the splinter party traversed Scotts Knob (7200, ft. }fwith packs and ended up camping amongst lots of mud end Pinus Contorta I near the bushedge on the mein ridge between Scots and Silverstream. The main party climbed out of Scots Stream onto the main ridge,. but from here only one good keen man - Paul Aubrey. reached the top. Cold misty weather. This party reached Silverstream hut that night. We all met up ageain.on Monday noEn ng at the hut, then wandered out to our tramport. There were acod views looking back to the peak we hac climbed but didn't see, Quite an impressive peak it looks like mecg.
