4,.00am alarm goes off. Somewhere before 5am a grey dawn comes up. By Levin it is raining. But then it gradually fines up. We arrive at Turoa in sunshine. We enjoyed the wide open spaces of the T bar and giant chair. But at, 2.00pm it clags in and starts raining. So it's off to the Club Hut. ae cont'd....

eee cont'd 2. By morning the front has gone and it's a beautiful day. The tow start: around 8.15am and we are on board. What a day! Brilliant weather, we: groomed slopes and no long queues. At 3.00pm, Dennis, Neil and I clim to the crater, Neil and Dennis going on to the top of Pari. The run da was great at the top, but horrible where the sun had turned the snow t¢ glue. By 5.30pm we were back in the hut, nursing sunburnt faces and ai Sunday was another fine day, but with the odd cloud about. There was i breeze which kept the snow crisp. Again no queues and plenty of groome snow, All in all 3 days spring skiiing - a real bonus for me as I had put my skiis away for the year. In our party (there were 14 more in the hut}, Neil and Glynis Woodrow, Dennis and Franées Gazley, Joy and Peter Clark, Bernie Napp and Michael Hollis (reporter).
