We made our fire by a.bubbling brook and really enjoyed our stew. Next morning, we dismissed Sunset Saddle but went as far as the bush edge for views. of the cirque. - Back to the Travers Valley for lunch and.then commenced our journey up the Arnst river. A great piece of navigating took us around the water falls. and to the cairn. The party split with the slow group getting well ahead! Our. second night was spent just below the bushline in the Arnst Basin where attempts to light our fire in the rain were unsuccessful. ‘ini : Sunday dawned a beautiful day and from the tops we got great views of Mts. Travers, Cupola and most of Hopeless.
