a 3 2 ' ‘ , After a good bandaging and Lunch-—break, I started hobbling off back toes Fields Hut with the assistance of Gary and Brian ~ the rest of the party headings towards Renata. The pace was very slow and got slower. The trip down te Fields took 4-5 hours through mist which cleared occasionally to give well deserved views of Wellington. kg om After an attempt to walk out on Sunday, we realised that I had to be rescued, Brian went down for help. Hel» arrived at 3.30pm in the form of Neil W., Ian H., Peter B., Mat C along with Brian, I was "piggy-backed" in high style doim the track right to the road. Everyone had turns. It was a considerable. achievement +o carry my 73 kg down the slivnpery track, through the stealth of the night, back to the cars, Hospital X-rays showed a fractured rear tibia, which is nothing a month in plaster canit fix. I am extremely grateful to everyone who helped carry me down the ridge and a special thanks to Gary Wood and Brian Rowe ~ we couldn't have had a better trip leader,
