Recent attempts by Tararua Marshalls to clean the town up heve proved unsuccessful. We reach Kime Corral still ahead of the main posse (led by Sheriff Barbara). We have a pow-wow with some Parawai braves and pass round the ole peace pips. At High Noon we ride over the Badlands Trail to Vossler Gulch in search of those armed desperados the Hawthorne Gang, Visibility is low due to dust storms. We mosey on down to the Penn Creek Saloon for a showdown with the Hawthornes. Thsy are heavily armed (30- 06 x py so we make peace. Tired by our long day in ths saddle we have beans and coffee then sleep. At sunup we amble West through the tumbleweed (lcatherwood) over Tabletop Pass and return to Fields, meeting many city dudes elong the way. “e meet the rest of ‘thé posse and ride out to meet the stagecoach, then return to Dodge City.
