MYSTERY TRIP (ALIAS MEET THE COMMITTEE) F.E. — Mar 30 - Apr l - Greg ord Friday night saw everyone departing the bus to the sound of, "Mikimiki, where's that?" A quick stroll up the road and at last there was enough campsites for all the trips. There seemed to be a lack of rocks for the flies so a handy bridge was dismantled to cater for the problem. Rudely awoken by a primus on Saturday morning I opened one eye to find it was still dark. Breakfast, a brew, then away into the depths of Mikimiki Stream, which was notable mainly for the 'greasiness of the rocks in it! and *the prolific amount of hook grass that presides there'. Finally at a fork in the stream we climbed out onto Blue Range. A rest in the sun, then down a spur into a creek, {with only one pool) into Donald Stream and Su to gine Pie ke: for lunch, OT Peggy's Stream. 2500 ft later we dropped our packs (as we were now on the track up Mitre) and most of us climbed to the top, some with more difficulty than others (mainly me).
