I spied the boys packing in the 4. carpark and went over to say hello. It could have been my beautiful brown eyes or even the slinky black coat I wore . . . the attraction was instant.
Protected from the wind and light rain by the forest canopy, we did the usual grunt up to Field hut. There two old timers sipped on their beers and celebrated their 10-yearly ascent to Field. The boys looked at the map and slowly changed the planned destination. the fact that Penn Creek Hut had a fireplace while Kime Hut didn’t had no influence on our choice of hut... honestly, the views from Kime would have been lost in the cloud.
The drop from Judd Ridge to Penn Creek was a steep one, the water following us along the track. We arrived at the purple Penn Creek Hut early in the afternoon and set up camp. As the boys gathered firewood on a nearby slip, I looked forward to a cosy night beside the fire, nestled in beside one of their warm bodies. -Perhaps I would even be able to share a bunk with one of them. I’d had my eyes on their calves and thighs all afternoon and couldn't imagine what the night might bring.
When all the work had been done, the stragglers arrived. The brutes startled us by throwing a branch on the roof. They had left a little later than the main party and unsuccessfully tried to convince us they’d come via Kime and Vosseler.
My planned night of luxury soon turned to disaster as they locked me out of the hut. Forced to sit on the porch in the cold, I listened as they gobbled the snacks John handed around. Smelling the yummy pasta for dinner was
