RUAPERIU LOGIE DUA? WALI cao armn. ~ avnew-reensarn On Saturday we woke to rain and mist but all the groups decided to have a go at doing their trips anyway. After dropping Sue and Grant off at the road ends they needed to be at and parking the bus up at the Chateau I got Peter Goodwin to take me back up the Bruce road fo meet up with the rest of my group (Thanks Pete it was a great help). It was off in to the rain along the track to Whakapapaiti hut arriving there wet but all in a good spirits. And, after a wee break, it was off again into the rain. We got out at the Chateau to find the easy trip already having coffee and carrot cake so we just had to join them. After refueling it was time to pick up Grants trip and go to the hot pools to have a soak and back to the lodge for Saturday night. Sunday was a nice fine day so all of the trips decided to do something. After dropping the fit trip off it was back to the lodge to get my troops and some of Sue's trip ready to go up toward the skyline ridge and Te Hue Hue peak. We had nice weather for the trip but ran out of time so only got part of the way to Te Hue Hue. Then it was a quick trip down to catch the chair lift down the waterfall and walk back to the lodge via Salt ridge to have a look at the hole in the rock and to help with the clear up of the lodge before picking up the fit trip and back to Wellington. Thanks to Allan my co driver for his help with the driving. We had 3 new people on the trip and they all enjoyed them selves and hope to see them back with the club. On the trip were Allen Gruenberg, Freddy Salvad, Deborah Frost, Katherine Frost and my self Andrew .
