Photo: Getting away from the crowds on the Abel Tasman Inland Track
Abel Tasman National Park is the smallest of the national parks, with golden beaches, tidal estuaries and forested hills along the top of the South Island. The Coast Track is one of the Great Walks, and there is an Inland Track that is much quieter.
The club's trips include the Coast Track at Easter and Christmas, the Inland Track from Tōtaranui to Marahau, and sea-kayak trips. Huts such as Awaroa, Bark Bay and Whariwharangi come up most often, and the grades are mostly easy to easy-medium.
