April 5 - 7: The second half of the instructional part of our Bushcraft held at Otaki Forks was also very successful.
Easter: Three of our hunting types spent ten days on Stewart Island, without much success.
Jack McConchie and several other North Island types shot off to the Kawekas for four fine days.
The Club FE trip to the Richmonds got split, half doing the trip and the others, unable to cross the Wairau, hitching to Nelson Lakes and pit bashing. The Nelson Lakes Medium and FE trips did very little, hopefully due to rather wet conditions. Brian Hunt and nine others spent ten wet days in the Wanganui River area.
April 19 - 21: A Medium, led by Jack McConchie went to Pukehinau Stream and down Roaring Meg. Laurie Gallagher's FE went up Panatewaewae Stream, and into the Waitewaewae Basin.
April 26 - 28: Various trips into the Tauherenikau ran, but according to reports reaching me, little was done.
May 3 - 5: The Practical Bushcraft ran reasonably successfully, but attendances were down. WHY? Any suggestions welcome.
May 10 - 12: Two working parties: Tongariro National Park, watch out for tussocks along roadside, and a Ruapehu Hut WP, change in plumbing system, and new stereo put in. Good work all those who helped.
May 17 - 19: Another large crowd - two buses, three trips: The E trip being led by Ian Bunckenburg to Mitre Flats, the M followed Brian Hunt up Mikimiki Stream to Mitre Flats, and the FE piked with Laurie Gallagher at Cow Creek.
