Two successful working parties (socially and workwise) were Carried out on the iiuapehu Hut with the following major improvements: new spouting end down pipes, new table tennis table, fat extractor installed and new drain systém, 12V emergency lighting system installed, gear room and hall painted, outside of hut scraped down and 4 paintéd (weather) and stoves repaired. ; : Private wW/P’s are being run to comolete the work..- Thanks to all who helped.

A group shot down below Kuaoehu Hut and around the mountain to come out on the road at Horopito. Feb 14 ~_16: 4 people zapped around Tongariro National Park, Starting at Blyth, going to Wangemu - Oturere, Red Crater - Mangetepope, - Jekepapaiti and on back to Blyth.

Achievement: slaughter of 12,000 ~ 15,000 Pinus Contorte plants \from seediugs to mature trees} largeiy in the basis on the Jangaehu side of the wWahianoa. ’ Summary: Everyone worked extremely well. Paul Green reckoned it was one of the most oroductive working parties the park has seen on the basis of cutput ner individual. Many axes and slashers were sharpened and blunted mnmay times. Sports deekend_: The Juniors made a clean sweep in their merathon, with a cup team taking the team event. G. Dommett claiming first home, and I. Bunckenburg the fastest time. Unfortunately we lost our hold in the seniors, Tareruas taking first home and the team event, and Dan McConnel from the Police smashing the ald record with a lh 12.09 run. Congratulations to Tony Gazely who elso ran in a time under the old record. In the girls biily boiling we were beaten by a CIC entry. ; ‘ A Sundey sports were the most.successful for several years.
