This weekend must have been very disappointing fer the 25 who -pooked in on the Ruapehu trip whicn had to be cancelled. You ‘can blame a lousy Tararua for that: Jack McConchie must have something going for him as his Ruahine trip was fully booked out by the 35 who went. I gather not much was done -— well it was 2 medium, gourmet trip so I suppose that's alright, and everybody obviously had 1 great time, which'is what good tramping is all about. Weather superb.

The Ruzhine medium trip failed to run, as did the Richmond Range fit trip. However nine wens dow to tne Richmowd Range and managed to do three trips between them. The weather was just fantastic, and the temperatures 2% night were a-bit breath-taking too! Especially when you camp on the tops over 4500 feet up. It was a really good weekend, probably the finest three days that I can remember for awhile.
