September 1 - 3: A full bus to Egmont for the third AIC end a tramping trip. rerfect weather they tell me, (How come it always rains and snows when I'm there). The Ruapehu trip also ran full, as it did the following week.
September 8 ~- 10:Ruepehu - no trip return given as yet, so I don't know, Where is it? A three day trip to the Raglan Range had nine poeple who enjoyed rain and knee deep snow, with four climbing Scotts Knob, cur objective, Note -— due to lack of interest the Tararua trips had to be cancelled where are all the keen trampers?
September 15-17: Club Ski Sports. The champions weres- Senior - Denis Gazley; Intermeciate - Ian Hedfield:; Junior ~ Lesley Marshali; Girls ~ Ann Goodwin. A combie ran to the Tarauas, but no reports back yet. September 22-24: Ruapehu trips. An almost full bus went up to the mountain. The FE three peaks trip didn't quite make it but the other trips ren as planned.
Now my grumbles - plenty of them:
Trip Returns:People are very lax in returning these. For those who don't understand the club has a trip record of "all" club trips, and the returns supply the input data for this.
No-one returns receipt books from Ruapheu. We need these for aucit purposes,
Activity - why don't you try tramping ~ it IS the basic club activity although the last few months doesn't confirm this,
Trip lists - if you do make the big move, please Go it early so that we can pian transport. This is very important.
Leaders - once upon a time people made an effort to lead those trips they were scheduled to - why not now?
oa eae I'm not just moaning, club is slack at the moment, and it requires members, not Committee to sort it out, so please give us a hand to get our club back to its proper place i.e. the best.
NEIL WOODROW.
