Dave led the. ascent of Death's Wall followed eagerly by the rest. It was then Greg's turn to be intrepid, continuing further up the face. While waiting for his turn on the rope, Nick amused himself for a while in an interesting chimney below. .
a Later, Greg led again on another climb. Initially there was a Sab sporting a rusty piton firmly placed. The route then rose into a gut of rotten rock where Dave assisted by setting up a top rope. Following a quick lunch in the hut, we headed up Valley. Dave and Greg had their eyes on an impressive overhang, but after some spectacular human fly scenes, they found it more useful for prussiking practice, Nick, Jan and Dave took turns at forcing their bedies up a chimney that was really too small for such behaviour, while Hugh and Dan went xound the corner to practice climbing and abseiling. at tea, Dan offended the many "foreigners" in the hut by wielding an ice axe at an opposum on the roof, , Wet weather dampened climbing hopes for Sunday and. the team tramped to catch the home-~-bound bus at the Chateau. Those on the trip: Dave Wills, Greg Aimer, Jan Simmons (Authoress) Dan Wilson, Nick Miller and Hugh O*Donnell.
