Tempered by a beautiful, calm evening the Tongue & Meat Bushcraft ti participants rushed at high gait into the Tauherenikau River (Smiths Creek end) on Friday evening. Overcoming the usual calamities .: (Ian Hadfield), camp was made by 11.45 p.m. The next two dayg were spent furiously as various instructors revealed the knowledge of génerations and the pupils practised the arts of bushcraft. Saturday culminated in a magnificent stew and a campfire natter. Sunday was spent avoiding exposure and navigating our way out over various routes.
