This was a trip for those who didn't wish to syend ail weekend ramping; it also offered 2 bit more of a challenge than Karin Bosweil's excellent daytrips around Wellington. The phane ran hot Thursday through to Sunday (March 29}, and 15 people of considerable age range finally assembled bleary eyed at Wellington: Railway Station at 8am. A clear sunny day ensured that there was only one defector. The ascent of Reeves was leisurely, the view magnificent from the top; clear skies allowed excellent views of the Wairarapa south to the lake, and across to Marchant Ridge and mighty peaks

The descent was spurred by winds of increasing velocity but the ‘sun continued to shine. Assembied again at Wallis Whare carpark, ‘it.was generally agreed that the trip was a success and that more of a similer nature shovidé be scheduled in future. an Yes ~ MURRAY WORSOP
