pgther great trip at Broken River! e snow came and almost went before we got there. Saturday at Mt Hutt was a great SS uP introduction. ; , Soy hed IN, ie Sunday we drove over Porters Pass to find snow in patches only. Porters was \ ae: osed. Cheeseman looked bare. From the road we could see the moguls at BR, at } east they had snow! sunday night it snowed — about 15cm. Monday was a delight. At 4.00pm it started to sfow. Great we said and went below expecting another 15cm. Alas by 4,30 it was gC ear skies again and that was the last we saw of new snow. 2 thrashed the slopes as the lessons improved our style (the young ones more than Mee oldies) and we went faster, The snow held up reasonably well until Friday. But that afternoon it was very warm. Saturday was worse. The snow became soft and vicky - like Ruapehu in October. The snow grass and spaniard became more and sore peaple. A fall on spaniard is an experience to be missed. nights were great, either spent quietly or partying. One party got out of hand we donated $100 to cover the damage done to a wall. Saturday evening we had had 6 days skiing and were fagged out. We retired to okOHi11. On Sunday no one was interested in skiing, Four went horseriding and id behinds. The rest of us mucked around the cave and later went to Arthur's s f4ér a milk shake - no milk! i days out of & makes it one of the great years. Pity it was the first time Isue and Meats didn't fill Lyndon Lodge. Oh well, there will be next year
