Day Trip, 23rd May 1992 by Jo McKenzie This masterpiece was carefully and thoughtfully constructed by all the members of the aforementioned escapade, at the final destination of this event with the guidance of the native juices provided at such an establishment. And so.......... * I finally made my first tramp! Kim Vardon twas epicll Kim Austin _™ Thanks Jo - but cut the wind next time. Karyn Burgess Very good walk, the air was a little thin but the view was worth all the effort - special thanks to Jo, our dedicated leader. Wayne Dodson * Nobody told me we had to bring lunch! Mike Pratt * A great train ride to the start. Phillip Simon * Itwas lovely to find a Bakery on the tramp. This mustbe afirst! Suzie McQuoid Dodging puddles and poos to appreciate the view. “Jo was a great leader, she made us go up every peak but it was worth it the Thistle Inn's finale was nottoo dusty. Beerwas goodtoo. Eric Evans “An excellent trip, from the well-kept surroundings of Raroa Station (Graffiti of the week: "There are no drugs at Onslow College"), to the salubrious Thistle Inn, following Jo and her dayglo legs! The highlight of the trip was a stop to view Keith Strode- Penny's toilet mangled bike and dislocated shoulder. Despite the sensuous smells of freshly baked cakes wafting through Keith's flat our Jo drove us onwards with a little help from Eric who forced us to climb Tinakori Hill for the view .....and then missed the Lookout. Itwas a greattrip. Debbie Evans
